Teenagers Reaching in Alcohol Addiction

Teenagers drink to gratify themselves, because most teenage they don’t really get to do that in their everyday life. Sometimes people drink for excitement and adventure, because their work, culture and everyday life is weary or boring. People drink to laugh and unleash their feelings or emotions, because their work, family, culture and everyday life making alcoholism on teenagers possible.

Alcoholism in teenager has been the subject of great speculation since every one wants to put an end to it. Teenagers are the future of this world if at that young age they get into alcohol addiction their entire future will be afflicted and along with that they could also destroy their future. The reason why teenagers are so susceptible to alcohol addiction is their hormones and added to that is peer pressure. A person affected by peer pressure may or may not want to belong to these groups. They may also recognize dissocialize groups with which they would not wish to affiliate, and thus they behave adversely concerning that group's behaviors. Peer pressure can also cause people to do things they would not normally do like drinking, drugs and etc.

For teenagers, alcohol is a sign that they are growing up. It is great to drink. It also makes them feel good, relax, brave, smooth hearted, all emotions which are welcome to a troubled teen for which life can be confusing and difficult a lot of the time. Teens don't want to feel like children anymore. Drinking alcohol always belonged to the adult world before, so drinking can be a way of showing you, their friends, and themselves that they are older now. This is the reason why alcoholism in teenagers is on the increase.

Alcoholism among Teenagers

Addictions know no boundaries and preferences. It could affect anyone else, young and old alike, whether you are rich or poor. This fact is supported by recent statistics of people admitted to various California drug rehab centers seeking alcohol addiction treatment.

Alcoholism is an addiction characterized by consumption of high quantity of alcoholic drinks and is manifested in several alcoholism symptoms aside from the obvious smell of alcohol in the alcoholic’s breath.

Alcohol rehab centers notice that teenagers are easy prey to alcohol addiction. Teenagers are often held back by strong peer pressure and desire to belong to a crowd. These persons often think of drinking alcohol as a cool stuff and a sign of maturity.

Alcoholism teenager may also develop as a result of the kind of family teenagers belong to. As expected, teenagers whose parents are both alcoholics are more likely to become alcoholics at a young age. Teenagers who do not have healthy relationships with their parents may also end up in alcoholism as a form of rebellion.

Parents and family can do so much to help solve this problem among the youth and the teenagers, in particular. Prevention and treatment for alcoholism will not only save relationships and family ties as well as the good name of the family. Preventing alcohol addiction will also lessen the rate of school drop outs as well as cases of juvenile delinquency.
